2026-05-28

To deeply integrate into the Belt and Road Initiative and precisely connect with emerging market opportunities in Africa, on the afternoon of May 26, Tongyong Environmental Protection Group, as a core member enterprise of the Yixing Service Trade Association, was invited to attend the "Wuxi Products on the Silk Road" — Yixing–Africa (Kenya) Market Development Exchange Conference held at the Yixing Environmental Science & Technology Industrial Park. The conference brought together the Commercial Counselor of the Kenyan Embassy in China, representatives of the Ghana Industrial Association, leaders of trade promotion councils at various levels, and more than 50 outstanding enterprises from Yixing in the fields of environmental protection, new energy, and electric power. With the tripartite synergy of government, enterprises, and associations, the grand blueprint for going global in Africa was jointly drawn.

TongYong Environmental Protection Takes the Stage, Showcasing Hard Technological Strength

In the highly anticipated enterprise presentation segment, Zhang Mingyin, General Manager of the Group, took the stage and systematically introduced the company's core technology system, advantageous water treatment products, and diversified application scenarios to the African guests and peers present. He focused on sharing customized adaptive solutions tailored to the characteristics and actual needs of the African market, demonstrating Tongyong Environmental Protection's comprehensive advantages in product processes, project experience, and service response. The presentation aroused great attention and strong interest from representatives of Kenya, Ghana, and other foreign parties, and the two sides conducted preliminary supply-demand matching exchanges on site.

Why Africa? Why Kenya?

During the conference, through interpretations by African guests and professional analysis institutions, we gained a clearer understanding:

市场刚需:肯尼亚水处理市场2025年规模约18亿美元,农村供水覆盖率仅50%,未来5年计划新建120座水厂。

能源与基建缺口:工业电价高、电力普及率待提升,清洁能源及配套基础设施建设需求迫切。

区位优势:蒙巴萨港、蒙内铁路构建高效物流,内罗毕作为联合国非洲总部所在地,政治稳定,辐射东非及东南非共同市场。Rigid Market Demand: Kenya's water treatment market was worth approximately US$1.8 billion in 2025, with rural water supply coverage at only 50%, and plans to build 120 new water plants in the next five years.
Energy and Infrastructure Gaps: High industrial electricity prices, electricity penetration rate yet to be improved, and urgent demand for clean energy and supporting infrastructure construction.
Geographic Advantages: The Port of Mombasa and the Mombasa–Nairobi Standard Gauge Railway provide efficient logistics. Nairobi, as the seat of the United Nations African Headquarters, offers political stability and radiates to the East African Community and the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA) .

In the process of deeply cultivating the African market, Tongyong Environmental Protection Group has accumulated a solid practical foundation:

Kenya: As early as 2023, we undertook the Dandora Sewage Treatment Plant rehabilitation and expansion project in the capital, Nairobi, firing the first shot in the East African market.

Lesotho: Currently, the Leribe District Water Supply Project is at the critical stage of equipment installation and commissioning, demonstrating our sustained capability from project acquisition to implementation and execution.

Multi-Country Layout: In addition, our project footprint covers Mauritius, Mauritania, Cameroon, and several other countries.

These pioneering experiences from East Africa to Southern Africa have given us a deeper understanding of the market needs and operating models of different regions on the African continent, and have laid a solid foundation for subsequent deep cultivation.

Going Global as a Group, Letting "Made in Yixing" Shine in Africa

This exchange conference was an important step for Tongyong Environmental Protection Group to expand its African footprint. We will rely on Yixing's complete environmental protection industry chain and the international cooperation platform built by the association to go global as a group with outstanding local enterprises. Leveraging our practical experience already implemented in multiple countries and mature water treatment technology, we will continue to contribute "Tongyong Solutions" to water resource improvement and environmental governance in Kenya and more African countries.

In the future, the Group will continue to deepen technological innovation, embrace the global market with an open attitude, and let the golden signboard of "Made by Tongyong" shine brightly on the African highlands.
