On September 10, the fourth stop of the year of the “Journey of Wisdom” organized by the Yixing Green and Low-Carbon Industry Association set off as scheduled. Relevant leaders from the Yixing Municipal Bureau of Industry and Information Technology and the Science and Technology Bureau of the Environmental Science and Technology Park attended throughout. Jiang Jiezhong, President of the Association, and Pan Hailong, group owner of “Yixing Environmental Protection People,” led the delegation. Forty member entrepreneurs traveled to Suzhou.

In the morning, they visited Jiangsu Sujing Group Co., Ltd. to see how “cleanliness” supports great-power manufacturing. In the afternoon, they moved to the intelligent manufacturing base of Huashijie (Suzhou) Technology Co., Ltd. to see how “air treatment” can turn from a cost burden into value creation. One focuses on “purification,” the other on “cleanliness.” One does subtraction—making air extremely pure; the other does addition—turning waste gas into a resource.

It focuses on four major equipment and systems—air cleanliness, biosafety, energy conservation and environmental protection, and gas purification—and provides integrated solutions such as cleanroom engineering, ultrapure water, and high-purity gases.

‍‍Founded in 1970 and state-controlled, it is a leader in China’s clean environmental protection field. It has seven national-level honors, including National Enterprise Technology Center. “Sujing” is a China Well-Known Trademark. It has 438 authorized patents and has helped formulate 36 national and industry standards. The economic indicators of its leading products have led peers for more than 30 consecutive years. On average, it launches a “first set” every 2.7 years. Its core products support national major projects such as the Xichang and Jiuquan satellite launch bases and the Chang’e, Shenzhou, and Tiangong series. It serves more than 100,000 customers and exports to more than 40 countries and regions.

It focuses on the treatment of industrial volatile organic compounds (VOCs), connecting the full chain of “core materials—standardized equipment—system engineering—professional operation and maintenance,” and provides integrated solutions that are “environmentally compliant + economically viable.”

Founded in Qingdao in 2004, it is a national-level specialized and sophisticated “little giant,” a National Enterprise Technology Center, and the lead editor of the zeolite rotor industry standard. In 2013, it established China’s first (set) molecular sieve adsorption concentration rotor production line, rewriting the import monopoly. The group has formed two major sectors—materials and environmental protection—guided by the “four modernizations” strategy. Several subsidiaries focus on mass production of core materials, while Huashijie (Suzhou) is responsible for complete equipment manufacturing, serving leading customers in more than 30 industries.2

One “purification,” one “cleanliness”—both are answers to the green era!

Two stops in one day, as if reading an “advanced guide” to China’s environmental protection manufacturing. Sujing, with 55 years of persistence, has taken “purification” to the extreme; Huashijie, with more than 20 years of focus, has distilled “cleanliness” into quantifiable, replicable equipment and standards. The two tracks converge on the same methodology: long-termism, independent R&D, standard leadership, and platform collaboration.

As China’s Hometown of Environmental Protection, Yixing has a deep industrial foundation and even more needs to stand high and look far. On the return trip, many entrepreneurs were still discussing: in the past, they were used to doing projects and engineering; today, they saw doing products, standards, and platforms. The path to high-quality development is never just one. This kind of inspiration is precisely the greatest meaning of the “Journey of Wisdom”—next stop, Yixing Green Association is still on the road.
