Year after year comes the Double Ninth; today it is Double Ninth again. On the afternoon of October 17, on the eve of the Double Ninth Festival, the "Xinyu Tiancheng · Climbing High and Looking Afar to Warm Double Ninth" public welfare environmental protection walk, organized by the Yixing Green and Low-Carbon Industry Association, was warmly held in Taihua. Nearly 50 representatives of member units and Yixing environmental protection practitioners gathered among the mountains, forests, and courtyards, turning a greeting, a moment of companionship, and a mountain cleanup into the softest green action of this autumn.

The ancients dedicated this day to the mountains—climbing high, bidding farewell to the green, inserting dogwood, and gazing afar. Today's Yixing environmental protection practitioners dedicated this day to Taihua: first visiting the elderly in a courtyard, then restoring a mountain to the cleanliness it deserves.

The first stop of the activity was the Taihua Town Nursing Home.

Since the mountain being climbed was Mount Taihua, visiting the nursing home at the foot of the mountain became the most natural and sincere choice. There was no deliberate arrangement, only a local encounter; no grand ceremony, only ordinary greetings—which precisely became the most solemn opening of this journey. Everyone delivered holiday gifts to the elderly and sat around them, asking about their health, chatting about life, and listening to their past. Those simple smiles and slow narratives brought the meaning of Double Ninth back from "festival" to "people"—respecting the elderly is not a one-time arrival, but a long-lasting remembrance.

Mount Taihua's layered forests were gradually tinted, and the autumn mood was clear and bright. Today the weather was favorable, with sunshine and mountain breeze accompanying the team as they slowly ascended along the mountain path. Some led the way with flags at the front, some encouraged their companions along the route; some bent down to pick up debris among the fallen leaves, some gently placed scattered bottles and cans into bags. The environmental protection practitioners' respect for the mountain needs no loud proclamation. A single sentence—"Picking up trash, environmentalists are serious about it"—is the simplest promise. The mountain path gradually became cleaner, and footsteps gradually became lighter. At the end of the activity, several partners who performed outstandingly in the mountain cleanup received special encouragement. The prizes need not be showy; what matters is the perseverance that was recognized: return the mountain to the mountain, return the green to the green, and leave "no trace" for those who come after.

This Double Ninth public welfare walk was also a vivid extension of the association's "3060 Carbon Road Together" series of activities.

Since its launch in March this year, "3060 Carbon Road Together" has integrated green and low-carbon concepts into running, tree planting, and volunteer services, allowing environmental protection to move from industry action into more people's daily lives.

From mountain and wilderness cleanup to public welfare tree planting, from low-carbon advocacy to charitable student assistance, the Green Association's Charity Committee has always believed that carbon reduction and green protection, energy conservation and recycling, and charitable public welfare are inherently the common cause of environmental protection practitioners.

Healthy and loving people can support broader mountains and rivers; warm and steadfast actions can carry green concepts further. Go higher, walk toward the green.

The meaning of Double Ninth has never been limited to climbing high and gazing afar. It lets us see nature on the mountain path, see the elderly in the courtyard, and see ourselves in action.

Today, we send blessings to the late years, return cleanliness to the mountains and forests, and continue to write the belief in green and low-carbon into the next journey of Yixing environmental protection practitioners. The mountain is high and the road is long, but the original aspiration remains unchanged; respecting the elderly has warmth, and protecting the green has action.

The association will continue to stand shoulder to shoulder with fellow travelers, making every departure meaningful and every journey green.
